Besides the famous Kalkan architecture, the many excellent restaurants contribute to its’ special atmosphere. Kalkan is renowned for good dining and is believed to have the highest number of restaurants and bars per inhabitant or square meter on the Turkish coast (over 200 !). Kalkan is especially famous for its numerous roof terrace restaurants and bars which offer a wonderful view of the town, sea and stars, and the Harbour. There are also many fine harbour-side restaurants to watch yachts returning after a days sail and fishermen leaving early in the morning as you eat your breakfast, or see them return with the day’s catch in the evening. There is lots to do during the day and nightlife is fun, but laid-back. The nightlife n Kalkan is sophisticated, entertaining but not noisy or wild like in some other coastal resorts.

Chefs at Home / Kazim

For something completely different, how about treating yourselves to a lunch or dinner cooked for you at the villa – ‘Chefs at Home’ is Kalkan’s foremost private chef service. Imagine your own chef, preparing and serving fabulous traditional Turkish home-cooked food in the comfort of Villa Sea Breeze, leaving you free enjoy the build up with a glass or two of wine while sitting and relaxing with friends or family.

‘Chefs at Home’ (Kazim) caters for lunch and supper parties, barbeques, family meals and formal dinners, including weddings and anniversaries. The service is available all year round, but during the busier summer months, we recommend booking as far ahead as possible

Kazim will visit you in advance of your special occasion to tailor a menu to your exact requirements and budget.

The cost of your meal will vary according to the number of people being catered for, plus the ingredients required, but will always be reasonable – and still cheaper than eating out in a restaurant!

Kazim has 14 years of experience as a professional chef. Originally from Gaziantep, one of Turkey’s foremost culinary centres, he has worked in Kalkan since 2006, and set up ‘Chefs at Home’ three years ago. Since then, demand for his services has continued to grow, as word has got around about the quality of Kazim’s cooking, and as more people appreciate having an alternative to eating out, or need a professional catering service for a special occasion. Kazim is fluent in English, and we can guarantee will add his own special ‘personality’ to your occasion !
